Explore Montenegro: Discovering Underwater Treasures

Resting in Montenegro offers many memorable experiences, especially if your itinerary includes diving. You can admire the beauty of underwater flora and fauna, swim among sunken city ruins, or explore shipwrecks, caves, and coves with a guide. The sea remains warm enough for underwater adventures even during the winter months.

The Best Diving Spots in Montenegro

Popular areas for divers include:

Along the Montenegrin coast, there are seven sunken ships, six of which are accessible to certified divers. Additionally, near the Lustica Peninsula, there are intriguing sites including Poseidon Cave, the Blue Cave, the Siren Grotto, a sunken bomber, and a shipwreck.

Requirements for Diving Participants

First-time tourists planning to dive will need some training. Most diving clubs offer this service and also organise transfers to diving sites. Beginners are not permitted to dive in caverns or caves or venture to great depths. These dives are only allowed under calm conditions and with controlled immersion.

Divers with specific certifications and proven experience can access advanced training programmes. You can achieve CMAS, PADI, NNI, or SSI certifications here. Professional divers are permitted to undertake more challenging dives, such as:

Anyone wishing to dive should have medical insurance and be free from health issues, pressure drops, or allergies to equipment materials.

Our clubs and centres offer training for children aged 8 to 10 years old. For all beginners, including young participants, initial dives are conducted in pools and gradually progress to shallow sea waters.

Diving Costs

Prices vary depending on location, the diver's certification level, and the programme. A trial dive for beginners ranges from €30 to €70. Training courses for certified divers in cave and deep-sea diving, including certification, start at €350-€400.

Equipment rental is usually included in the course fee. Underwater video and photography services are also available, with prices ranging from €10 to €100. Meals, beverages, and other services may be included in the package or paid for separately.
